Keusi L. Pannell (Coach K) has more than 20 years of teaching, leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience working with youth athletes, special needs athletes, and military personal. Coach K was a three sport letterman in high school, at Football (QB WR, FS), Lacrosse (ATK), and Track (400H, High Jump, 110H and Shot). Passionate about sports and its possibilities, Coach K is finishing his final year of school for a degree in Sports and Recreation Management at Ashford University.
Prior to joining Kansas City Athlete Training in the fall of 2014, Keusi was also part of a team of coaches that worked with special needs athletes in Overland Park, Kansas. Keusi coached a group of five in the high jump event, training for the Special Olympics trials with the Johnson County Parks and Recreation from 2012 through 2013.
Coach K is a technically proficient coach, having spent 17 years in the military training, and teaching service member in various tactical skills, while also volunteering his time as youth coach in Temple, TX, where he was station at Fort Hood, TX, and also while on deployment to Iraq. In Iraq he was the lead coach, official, and organizer for all sports programs run by the Military Wellness and Recreation at Forward Operating Base Victory, Iraq.
After a successful career in military, Coach K now coaches/teaches/advises young athletes on how to achieve success now working as a scout and recruiter for a college sports recruitment company, NEXGEN.
